4.6L V-8 what version/model is in current F150's

After reading some other posts about some spark plug problems with the 5.4L engines, I got to wondering what version of the 4.6L is currently being installed in the F150 Supercabs?

FOrd is currently installing a modular 5.4L in F150's that may have some spark plug issues.

Are current F15's getting the old style 4.6L V2 with the cast iron heads with the standard style spark plugs or are they installing a4.6L V3, a 3 valve style engine?

The FORD website as well as Edmunds.com, Kelly Blue Book and the brochures at the Dealerships and the salesstaff (if you can believe them) state that the 4.6L used is a 4.6L 16 valve cast iron engine block with a cast iron head.

Yet on a couple of threads it has been stated that FORD is using a a 4.6L 24 valve engine with a cast iron block with an aluminum head that uses a very different looking spark plug that may have some performance issues

Does anyone have an idea what is actually being installed in the F150's at this time?

We would prefer the older style 26 valve 4.6L.

Ford is still using the 2v heads on the F150 with the 4.6L. Only the 5.4L is a 3v in the F150 for now.

I believe the mustangs have a 3v 4.6L...
