oil pressure
Any ideas as to what the cause would be? I have a 2001 V-6 some mornings after starting the oil pressure guage needle will show no pressure after a short time it will rise to normal, after driving during the day there is no problem, between shutdown and the truck setting for a period of time, any info would be helpful.

Bad sensor. Easy to replace, it is right next to your oil filter. There is a TSB about cold temp problems with the sensor. Mine did that as well and it was fixed with the new sensor.

You could (and should) hook a mechanical oil pressure gauge up to it and be sure you've got proper oil pressure before anything else. More than likely, the sender is faulty, it's a common failure item but I always like to verify oil pressure with a mechanical gauge before anything else. The sender itself ain't but like $10 bucks if that much at the Ford store.
