Reference Spark Plugs, how much did the.......Dealer or

..........Dealer or your local shop charge you to change your spark plugs on the 5.4L Triton.

I never had it done but a Ford dealer here quoted me $550 .

On the 97 with a 4.6 it took me 4 pain in the azz hours. I'll pass on doing it ever again. Gimme an ole 302 or 351 to do it in a half hour, or an older FE that goes as fast as you can get the plugs out of the little boxes.

took me 2 hours the firs time on my 98 4.6 and under an hour the 2nd time

Dealer charged me like $250.

search out a local mechanic/shop

Forget the dealer....

I have used a local shop for years.
The guy is a great mechanic, and WILL fix anything....jobs others would charge a fortune for, he hits with a welder and some know how, and boom, fixed.

To answer your question:
My guy installed new plugs, wires, fuel filter, and pcv valve for $80 labor. I bought all my own parts.

Well worth the money .

I thought about doing it myself, but then my dealer charged me 154.99 for labor and 44.96 for the plugs on my 5.4. I couldn't pass it up.

I am looking at the receipt right now as I keep all of my records for resale value - if I have to...

had local shop change plugs & wires on 98 f150 4.6 total $330
had same local shop change plugs and 2 ingnition coils on 2000 exp. 4.6 - $425
