Question Slow beginings

I have searched many past threads about 2001's that react slow from the line. Mine seems to drag until about 40mph then runs like a champ. I am not talking tire burning, just normal start up. I have read many that suggested new fuel filter and PCV so I am doing that today but a trusted friend said I am wasting money there. The 4.2 engine is stock with 72000 miles, no mods yet. Does anybody have any quick advice to this dilema?

Have the O2 sensors been changed yet? If not change the front ones.

Have not done that yet, I did replace the feul filter and PCV and that did seem to help. I did notice the TB is pretty dirty, I sprayed some b12 and cleaned the reachable areas but probably need to take it appart and go further.

Thanks for the advice, I will look into the o2 sensors next.
