a slight problem

have a 90 f150 5.0 recently installed plugs, wires, dist. cap, rotor, pcv valve and air filters. the problem I now have is a slight engine miss while idling. put on the code reader and 77 came up "operator error" (dynamic response/cylinder balance tests) anyone have an idea what this is? checked my shop manual and the solutions are rather sketchy

Code 77 is failure of brief WOT not sensed during self test.
Clear the code and test again.
To do this, disconnect the single seperate lead while the code is outputting. Do not remove battery.
Doing a KOER test, let the EEC do it's own thing without touching anything.
The other tests are to look at specific functions.
A miss at idle can be a electrical plugup connection, the TFI , the PIP, coil, wire that have a rub-through or anything that interupts the ignition momentairly.
Your looking to seperate out these things so you can tell what to look at for the missing problem.

oddly enough, the cure all for my 89 stang 5.0 idle problems came from an EGR simulator. You just unplug the EGR, plug this little device in, and BOOM. No more idle problems. It may just work for you as well. I bought it on ebay for like $20 a couple years back. Its not he size of half a roll of pennies, and was well worth the investment. Also, I ran for a couple years with 7 codes stored in the old OBDI and never missed a lick. So sometimes, you can get around OBDI errors
