I just bought a 2000 XLT last month from a dealership -- they found out about the recall, and moved it over to their Ford affiliate and got it done -- my VIN doesn't come up on the outstanding recalls, and my cruise works. Guess I ought to check it out with the Ford dealership, to see what they did.

 

So I called Ford about my Navi yesterday. They said, we don't have the parts to fix it, and won't have them until the middle of November. I said, so if my car burns to the ground and catches my house on fire Ford's gonna buy it right? Uh, no, schedule an appointment and we'll temporarily fix it for you until the parts get in they say. I said, so I just need to drive throughthe service dept so you can unplug the harness right? Um, no you'll have to leave it with us at least half a day. Yeah, right, can I just unplug the damn thing myself then? Um, no I can't advise you on that.
