03 Screw 5.4

I got 15.4 on my last tank. I have Flowmaster dual exhaust, K and N intake, E fans and a Troyer chip. I also jump on it whenever I want to.

Angry

I must be doing poorly. Mine only gets about 8.8 MPG, and that is with 91 octane and a recent tuneup.

16.5 on the last two tanks, mix of town/highway/trails looking for birds.
'00 4.2 V6, manual tranny scab 4x2.
Some tanks, driven mostly highway at conservative speeds, it's over 20. I don't know if dropping the tailgate or adding a tonneau would improve it any. And I usually drive like I'm about twice as old as I really am. Love my truck, love driving it, just never in that much of a hurry anymore.

I have an 05 SCREW 4x4 with 3.73's, and I average 12-13 MPG.....I am NOT easy on the pedal....and I do a mix of city/highway....mainly city lately....When I first got the truck I was running 91 and got 11-12 MPG....dropped down to 87 because of gas prices skyrocketing and shockingly get better gas mileage.....I did notice on one freeway only road trip I was getting pretty good gas mileage.....

Get around 16-18, '97 2wd S-Cab, fiberglass bed cover, one size smaller tires, recent tune-up, semi-synthetic Quaker State oil. Run premium 91 octane gas, and run your tires a bit harder (5 psi over rating). Works for me, ride not too harsh this way. The premium gas made a HUGE difference, feels like 10 hp more, and gets rid of most of the dead spot between 1800 and 2500 rpm's. Next will be a K&N filter. Good luck !
