Did they really do my recalls????

I took my truck into my local dealership to get 3 recalls done on it. Wheel attachment-lug nut recall, fuel line recall and the cruise control recall. Well i have no way of checking to see whether they did the lug nut and fuel line recall because i have no idea what it was for. But when i bought my truck a few months ago i disconnected the cruise control by the master cylinder and put electrical tape around both plugs. well i was looking at it today curious what they did to it with the recall, but it looks EXACTLY the same except they took the tape off one of the plugs.
as you can see there is still dirt over the wire covers so they obvioulsy didn't touch them. and i just checked on the recall section on fords website and it says my truck still has the recall on the cruise control!!! Do i need to sue them for failure to perform the recalls or just go down there and beat the s**t out of them??

The parts for the cruise control recall are not available yet. You need to wait a few months, then go back. Although they should have told you that.

But currently, that is the fix for the recall.

My dealer gives me a receipt stating what was done and what was not.

Go back and ask how you can be sure the recall work was done but be civil about it.
If your still not happy go to another dealer and have them look at it.

These things don't rise to the level of anything but showing a little displeasure if there is not a reasonable attempt to satisfy the customer.
If you do find the work was not done and have proof enough then you can raise hell with Ford concerning the specific dealer but it ends there.
Good luck. Saw it before.

thanks for the info guys, this dealership didn't explain squat to me. i took my truck in told them to do recalls, they called me a couple hours later stating it was done, so i went and picked it up and left. if they didn't have the parts for the cruise control recall they should have explained that they were just gonna unhook it for now until they get the parts in and then schedule me to come in at a later time to finish it. but when i picked my truck up they didn't say anything about not completing the recall or coming back later to finish it!!!!
anyone know what the other 2 recalls consisted of so i can check if they completed those or not?? thanks

Try the cruise control. Then go back and tell them it doesn't work and that it did before they did the recall. This will force them to explain that they merely unplugged it. You can then voice concern to the manager over their lack of professionalism.

poor communication

Technically they did do part of the recall. If no parts are available they are supposed the disable(unplug) it.

They should have either told you that or printed it on your copy of the RO.

The lug nut recall was to replace the lug nuts. As you bought this used, that does not mean the recall wasn't done long before you bought it. I had a 98 that the recall for lug nuts was done around 99.
They check by VIN number to see what recalls are required, and which have been done. If already done, they will not do it again. You might ask them about whether the recall was done this time or if had been previously completed.

Check the color of the lig nuts. If they are black then the recall was done.

i already did that a few months back when i bought the truck

this recall wasn't done on my truck prior to me buying it because it still showed the recall being open on fords website prior to me taking my truck in last week

Check the color of the lig nuts. If they are black then the recall was done.
just checked them, all black at least i know for sure that recall got done, now the only recall showing open on my truck is the cruise control

anyone know what the fuel line recall 05S28 is all about?? and how i can check to make sure they did it??

I didn't rush to the dealership for the cruise recall after I saw the Ford video clip........assumed that the little fused wire gismo they were using would be back ordered for some time with so many vehicles involved.

I did have look at the affected wiring and mine looks pretty good.

My question is: does disconnecting the wire to the master cylinder make it safe?

I had mine done a couple of weeks ago. The day that the AP printed the article, I got a call from my service guy who told me to get my a** in too get it fixed. Maybe they did't do it 100 percent? My cruise control does work though.

maybe it is being sent out in limited quantities. But everything I have heard says the new parts arent widely available yet.
