PCM reset

How far do you have to drive after a PCM reset in order to stop getting that p1000 code with a code scanner? I've driven about 35miles andI'm still getting that (you need to drive more) code.

Unless you live somewhere with emissions testing, don't worry about P1000. All that means is that one or more monitors (catalyst, HEGO, EVAP, misfire, etc) haven't ran.

It's called a drive cycle and is at least 50 miles.
The drive cycle has to include certain specific driving actions that make the PCM do all the testing functions.
This resets the flags to zero that cause the 1000 code.
The cycle has to include such things as coast down from higher road speed, accelerations, cold starts, restarts etc. that cause specific PCM function to occurr. Just driving a long drive at steady speeds don't do it.
It's a bit complicated and even gives the dealers a tough time but they have a different way of dealing with it instead of sending a driver out for a long ride.

Per Troyer - the P1000 will come up any time the PCM is reflased. Just extract the code and fugetaboutit.
