1988 f150 engine popping noise

Please help!! I have a 1988 F150 302 that when the motor is running makes a popping noise. I have chgd the plugs, and the egr valve is new. Even the dealer has no idea what is causing the noise. Any suggestions??? thanks

Maybe a cracked exhaust manifold? Invest $6 in a mechanic's stethescope at your local auto parts store and you can hone in on the problem area.
