Where to start??

Well, as most of you will notice, this is my first post . Anyway, my mom has a 1997 F-150 with the 4.6L V8 and about 100,000 miles on it. My mom uses it to tow a horse trailer, and she says that the truck has a real hard time getting up some hills around here with horses in the trailer (Montana).

Anyway, short of a supercharger, what are some good ways to add a little power? I know I can chip it, and do intake/exhaust, but I'm not sure what companies make good products for Fords, or what models to get(I'm a Chevy guy personally :o ). I'd like to give her an extra 50ft/lbs of torque if possible. TYIA

Besides swapping in a V-10 or upgrading to a Powerstroke, you need to look up Troyer Performance / Mike Troyer. He is a supporting vendor and has several great performance packages for F-150s and maybe even a few chevy's too. He offers exhausts, intakes, chips, superchargers, ignitions, etc. in several stages of upgrades. I will be getting the ignition upgrade soon when my truck hits 100,000
