99 5.4L leaking oil

Just change my oil over the weekend and either it was leaking around the filter and blowing back on the engine or worst case I have a leaking head gasket. If it is the head gasket does anyone know what kind of expense I'm looking at to replace it?

The truck has 90K miles on it so if it's to expensive I'll probably just trade it.

Thanks
HB

It could be the filter, oil pressures sender or maybe the head. You need to clean the area and find out where the leak is before you jump to and conclusions.

Thanks I already did that and will drive it to see if the oil reappears. ALso did a search on the site but everything listed is back in 1999, 2000, 2001.

I hope you mean valve cover not head gasket.
