Question about burning oil

I have a 2001 f150 xl 4.6L, recently i have been blowing white/blue smoke out of my exhaust, there is no signs of oil leaking anywhere. i just got my oil changed 2 weeks ago, when i went to the Ford dealership they checked the oil and it was 2 quarts low. Has anyone run into this kind of issue before, and if so, what do i need to do to get this fixed?

You have a significant problem.

The first thing that comes to my mind is rings. The next is a cylinder head problem. I have do not have alot of experience with OHC heads, but there could be a seal leaking oil into the cylinder/cylinders. Or a simple problem with oil being 'sucked' up by engine vacum.

A compression check should help narrow down your search for the problem (operative word being should). This problem (in my opinion) should be fixed/resolved quickly.

good luck.

Are you burning on acceleration, or deceleration? Accel usually indicates rings, and decel indicates the top end, valve seals or even a clogged PCV system.

i would change the engine oil first to a good quality oil,if you have a higher mileage engine cheap oil at these quick change places can cause this,my engine smoked after a oil change at jiffy lube,i replaced the oil with pennzoil and it stopped smoking, they also left it 1 quart low.

Is it white or blue? White is coolant, blue is oil.
