o2 sensors

i was thinking of replacing the o2 sensors on my truck( 97 f150 91,000 mile) which to my knowledge have never been replace and since the truck only gets about 12 mpg. today i went to my ford dealer ship and they wanted 100 bucks for each sensor and the local autozone was only like 40. is there a difference between the sensors of is the dealer just trying to screw me on parts

Just replaced one of my original Bosch sensors with a new one from Checker for $47.00. It was the same part number Bosch as the original. The new one faulty and I will be taking it back today for a different one.

Its safe to by the Bosch ones from the auto parts store. The sensors are made by Bosch for Ford anyway.

I would replace both the pre-cat sensors.
