I think I've checked through all the messages and I haven't found one that was similar, forgive me if I missed one or misread one.

My '86 (170K miles) is knocking - a lot! and it doesn't matter at what rpm. It doesn't knock when I start it up, about 30 seconds later it starts knocking. Sometimes worse than others. It sounds like a Model T. That's the only comparison I can make.

Any help is appreciated. I'm doing a compression check this week when I get some help (and drinking buddy - it's damn hot here).

I hope its not the cam or bearings - I was hoping to put off rebuilding the engine until next summer.
