Blew spark plug

I blew the 2nd from the front on the passenger side spark plug last night on the way to work. The truck has about 67000 miles. I had just installed the Xcal2 and the 24# injectors about a week or so ago. Maybe 500 hundred miles since the install. This sucks. I guess I'll be on my way to the shop come Monday morning. I am guessing that I should not drive it to the shop but have it towed?

Before you take it to the shop do a little research here.
use the search feature. check out this thread on the topic.

Some good news, I blew the same plug. It was a very easy fix using the Time-Sert kit mentioned in the above thread. You should change or at least check the rest of the plugs.

Driving, If you are not going to fix it yourself the you can drive it but i would only drive a couple of miles at a slow speed. When i blew my plug i drove 10 miles home but, i unplugged the coil and the injector for the blown plug.

good luck.

Would this be covered under my warranty? I am warranted until 100,000 miles.

it should be. Call your dealer. Under warranty they will replace the head.

My warranty is not going to cover the repair. They said it wasn't due to a mechanical failure. The spark plugs are not covered under the warranty or the damage caused by the spark plug. So it's going to cost me about $500 at the dealership for the repair.
