HI!... Just to clear up some confusion.

The 4.6/5.4 SOHC has 2 camshafts. One above each cylinder head. The 4.6/5.4 DOHC has 4 camshafts. 2 cams above each cylinder head.

Really? Didn't know that. I assume the trucks get the SOHC?

All the SUVs and pickups are SOHC nowadays. You could get the 5.4 4V DOHC engine in Navigators from '99 to '04 and in the Blackwood. Now, the only thing you'll find a DOHC modular motor in is the GT and GT500.

HI!... Wild is good! My 408 dynoed out at 713H.P N/A at just over 7000RPM. I had a 250H.P fogger on it but sold the kit.

Maybe this is a little late but I still think it is cool. I let Google.com do some of my unit conversions.

Being that you brought up a 13 year old thread, I'm going to correct you. The 4.2 V8 was a 255, a debored 302. It was only used for 3 years - 1980 to 1982. It was found in the Mustang, Capri, T-bird, Fairmont, LTD, and Grand Marquis. It was a total dog.

Ford did have a 260 in 1962 to 1964. It was developed from the Fairlane/Meteor 221 and was replaced by the 289. This was the basis for the 302 and 351W.

The 262 you are thinking of was a small block Chevy used in 1975 and 1976. The GM 4.3 V6 was also a 262.

Ford's 4.2 V6 was used in the 1997-2008 F150, it was a 256.
