Question What's your favorite auto parts store?

Of all the national auto parts stores, which in your opinion offer the best selection/customer service/pricing? while i watch the all-star game.

Autozone is my choice. Always really helpful and they loan tools for FREE. I'm sure other places do to but they're the only one's who do it here. Cheers to the all-star game I'm sitting at work, looking at the clock and, well, obviously not doing anything too productive So I believe it's time to go...

Auto Parts stores hmmm.... They all have a way of pissing me off. Both of my local autozones have dum a$$es running it (something about an auto parts store full of cheerleaders as employees makes me want to vomit!...well at least when I need help getting the right part.) O'Reilly's seems to always have what I want but I usually have to wait at the counter for 20 mins. before they come out of the back to help me, because I'm always the first customer of the day... even at 5 pm. Advance Auto is a little better but only because the one in LaGrange, GA., close to where I live, has this guy named Barry that really knows his sh..tuff, other than him refer to my Autozone complaints. NAPA, and CarQuest both like to make me walk funny when I leave. There's always my local dealer and they do alright, as far as dealers go, but of course nothing is on the shelf and everything takes two days to get to me. Then there is my local independant Bumper to Bumper. The guy that owns the place, Scott Livingston, is top notch. Always happy to get me what I need, usually next day, and always seems to have those small obscure items that no other national chain can even order, such as main bearing cap bolts, on his shelf. Go figure. I also like the fact that he keeps his starting fluid behind the counter, that way our local meth heads can't completely fry their skulls and use him as a vendor. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Carquest is usually pretty good. The one we deal with in town has a couple old school guys there, you need it, they usually got it or can get it.

I've given up on AutopepadvanceO'reillysboyzZones.

pepboys sucks. too much like a Ricers-R-Us they barely stock parts anymore, its mostly all on-shelf displays of useless crap, and people who work there typically dont know much about cars besides how big of a wing you can fit on a civic before the trunk collapses

auto zone isnt too bad. only one around me but i've been to one in Myrtle Beach SC quite often and its a nice store. lots on display in the big stores.

Advance Auto wins the ticket for me. They practically always have what i need, or if not then it can be ordered. i stopped going to pepboys when they couldnt even order me a new carb for my 85. went to advance and ordered a whole holley fuel injection projection conversion kit for my truck their computer system for finding parts is pretty good as well, and they can get almost anything in a day or two.

all that plus the fact that i'm a manager at Advance Auto in Salem NJ but i'm not saying nice things about Advance cuz i work there (and get a nice 20% discount lol) but i did apply there for a reason and didnt apply to pepboys or autozone for a reason

I agree with Harley on the pepboys, they used to be top notch, but I noticed they do sell a lot of ricer junk. Autozone is great, and my little independent auto parts store, North Point auto always comes thru in a jiff
