My Father has an 02 F-150 XLT 4.2 V-6 engine, with 62,000 miles on it. It has been trouble free up until this date. Just last week, it strated to miss at idle when sitting at a red light or anywhere with the engone on. No engine light is on. We took the truck to a guy who works on Fords to take a look, and he told us, he doesn't know what the problem is unless the engine light is on. Do you guys know what might be the problem with this truck?? We thought it might have been bad gas, but we put dry gas int it, and still no cure. Any ideas on what this might be without taking it to a ford dealer??

 

If my crystal ball were that good I would tell you what the problem is and send you the bill at deep discount.
What is it dong besides just saying it is missing?
There's lots of areas that could be a problem.
