Exclamation uncomfortable vibrations

Hi.. i have a 2000 F150 with a 4.6 V8 under the hood... i have noticed recently a reduction in power accompanied by a kind of vibration that resembles a fouled plug in an older engine. i had the plugs changed recently by a local mechanic at Minake which seemed to relieve the problem for a bit, but now it seems that it has happened again... and i dont know exactly if it is the same problem or not,, it is a bit pricey to have those plugs changed due to their price and the labor it takes to change them... any suggestions on what the problem may be or if i have to just bite the bullet and have someone change somthing again without my knowledge of whether i am getting screwed or not"?
i make about a 3 hour commute to my home from college every two weeks or so and i have noticed that during the commute when i finally get into a town that my third gear grinds when i am trying to engage up or down... it is a manual speed 4x4 truck...
