They're not as big, but here they are Power gains from this kit are approximately 15 HP on the 4.6 & 17-18 HP on the 5.4L V8 motors.

No way you'll feel the difference in a vehicle this heavy. If you do it's psychological. Don't get me wrong, it's one step in a process that includes induction/combustion/exhaust. Increase the vehicles ability to take in and expel gases and you'll notice economy and performance gains, but don't count on the A/F to provide any increase on its own.

The AF1 looks similiar to the K& N series 77.
Anyone know what the differences are in HP gain if any
Seems reasonable that power gains would be about the same eh?..

According to Troyer Performance who does great tuning and R&D for these trucks the Airaid and the AF 1 are the only safe intakes for 2004 3 v 5.4 trucks.

Claiming a 25 hp gain at the rear wheels by changing the intake is totaly "approximate" bull. Also the MAF sensor will not be working properly after you clean and oil the K&N filter the very first time but you won't even know it. After 3 times and you clean the MAF you will notice an improvement in overall engine performance. You will also get real tired of the hassle . . so . . whatever little gain you might get from the intake you are losing to a dirty MAF sensor. Then there is the problem of not being able to tell if the filter is dirty enough to clean so usually I went too long. I had an AirRaid with K&N filter for 4 years and liked the added roar at WOT but never noticed any difference in power or mpg. When I added a cam and headers 18 months ago I left the AirRaid on but didn't know that it was robbing me of some bottom end torque until I switched back to my old stock Ford intake and paper filter. The first time I stepped on it hard I knew things were better and no more cleaning the MAF and now I can tell when to change the filter. I am going to have the truck dyno'd again because the new PCM along with the change back to the stock intake have really improved things. Just my experience for what it's worth.

stock intake produces colder air then aftermarket aluminum ones... the only intakes that promote cool air and a non restricting intake system is Volant... they about the most expensive but they have the greatest power gains.. and the least problems

Airforce One Performance Industries

Airforce One Performance Intakes are designed from the ground up for absolute performance, quality and longevity. These systems use aviation grade stainless steel polished to a mirror finish that will never rust or corrode regardless of the climate the system is exposed to. Custom designed and molded Hi-Temp stabilized composite adapter boots, couplings and MAS airflow venturi adapters are used. The venturi adapter generates a high vacuum in the filter enabling the filter to draw a higher volume of air while naturally lowering the ambient incoming air temperature by several degrees, eliminating the need to enclose the filter in a box and substantially increasing horsepower. The Power Stack Filters are sized to each system and carry a lifetime warranty.
Troyer Performance

This is simply the best intake kit for the 2004 & up Ford F-150's 3-valve 5.4 engine that money can buy, from design to function to materials to execution, Air Force One is the intake kit everyone wishes they had under the hood.
Power gains from this kit are approximately 25 HP at the rear wheels on the 3-valve 5.4L V8 motors at just 3000 rpm!
This info along with extensive forum searching on who’s happy with what is why I chose AF1
