misfire detection

ok guys: I got my hands on an "NGS+" to start official misfire detection of my intermitent misfire during driving... is there a way to use the NGS to tell exactly which plug is mis-firing? so far I'm only able to determine that there is in fact an ignition related misfire.
The other methods I've seen for determining which cylinder/COP it is are some things done at idle...

Please pardon my ignorance: What is an "NGS+"? Did it come with instructions?

I did find this link; thought you might find it helpful:

Another method is to install a new COP and rotate it throught all the cop locations until the miss goes away.

Congratulations on getting the use of an NGS system.
Why would you think very many people here would have any experience with a Ford factory system like that except possibly a Ford tech?
Tough to play doctor if you don't know how.
You have yet to absolutly identify your problem according to your post.
The seeming miss could be plugs, a Cam pickup sensor, the EGR system or even the PCM and wiring.
If the fault does not happen with a long enough duration, the PCM won't light the light and you may not see any sign of it's cause.
Sorry to sound a bit harsh about it but it's reality.

Bluegrass: Yes, I am under the impression there is a ford tech on here somewhere... is that so out of this world.
right: it does not set the MIL light.
origin: washed the engine. started getting misfires. changed the plugs and it's quite a bit better. now I'm left thinking it's a COP, and yeah, maybe I'll just buy one and rotate it around. might be quicker in the long run I guess.

COP's are about $50 at Autozone and Advanced Auto Supply. I bought one.
