Mass Air Flow Sensor.

You don't need to buy one of the really expensive Granatelli MAFs unless you're making a hell of a lot of horsepower (think supercharged), cause it'll just cost you a lot of money and not really make a difference.

Just get a rebuilt one and save yourself some cash.

does this TURBONATOR replaces the stock master air flow sensor ?? the add that shows on the home page of this website? for $ 69.95 (supercharge your ford) add.
if it is, the cheapest stock rebuild i can find is about $135.

Nope. It doesn't replace the MAF; and nope, it isn't worth $70.00 because it's snake oil.

As an aside: Have you tried just cleaning your mass air sensor? How do you know it's bad?

The Dealer will not clean your MAF, they will replace it. The Brometric pressure is inferred at part throttle and WOT settings by the MAF sensor. If it is contaminated it will read the incoming air flow incorrectly and that will skew the Baro readings. As has been suggested try cleaning it first. It is in the round box that holds the air filter. I use windex and a Q-tip on the wires. Be very careful or you will break the wire. Here are two articles on cleaning the MAF. Read them both.
http://www.fordf150.net/howto/clean-...low-sensor.php
http://www.stangnet.com/Tech-Article...AF-Sensor.html

If cleaning doesn't help then it may well need cleaning.

Regards

You can get a remanufacturered MAF from Auto Zone for less than $60 with a core exchange.

[edited out information that JMC already gave you. I will reinterate that you need to be extremely gentle with those wires, because you're screwed if you break them]

Another thing you could do is try to find a buddy that's got an F150 with similar specs and year model and swap mass air sensors. If his truck starts screwing up and yours starts working correctly, you know the MAF is bad for a fact.
