Fuel pump problem?
Hi guys, new guy with questions here. Hope ya'll can help. I just bought a '92 F150 4x4 with dual tanks. The problem is you have to turn the ignition on and let the fuel pump run for almost a full minute before it will start if the truck has not been run within several hours. I'm picking the truck up tomorrow and can test further but the folks I'm buying it from say that you have to turn the switch off and then back on to start it. Other than this start-up problem the truck runs just fine! What should I be looking at as the problem?

Sure sounds like the pump
I think you are on the right track regarding the pump. I would take a fuel pressure gauge over before buying and verify that it just takes that long for the pump to raise the pressure. The gauge is about $35. I bought one and it helped to prove that my wife's Taurus had a fuel pump problem. Good luck.
