Coolant Choices
I am wondering if the Fleetguard ES COMPLEAT (color blue) can be used in my 1998 F150 with out any trouble. I am curious because all the big rigs and tractors can. Can my truck or any other?
Thanks

use only what the owners manual specifies! engines with aluminum cylinder heads and intakes are very sensitive to coolants and gasket materials. (do a web search on class action suits on GM V8's and Dex Cool caused coolant leaks and engine failures)
diesel trucks have unique cooling additve requirements to prevent electrolysis.if the coolant chemistry is incorrect water molecules impinge on the cylinder liner when the exhaust opens and erode holes in the cylider liner. the chemistry of the truck coolant may damage your gaskets and may not have the proper heat transfer characteristics for your engine.
