Have 99 f-150 with 4.6. The other night driving just started missing. Now everytime i get in the throttle you can feel it not hitting on all 8. Check engine light is on, was wondering is there a way to read the codes without an code reader or does anyone sell an "cheap" code reader?

Harbor Freight sells a neat little code reader for $39. Works fine on my F-150 and every other car I've tried it on with OBDII.

HEY...I was wondering what you found out about your mis-fire?? I to was driving and developed a mis-fire cyl.4-8. cyl.8 has no comp. but with air supplied to the cyl. I hear air through the throttle-body at all times. When i roll the engine over to check the exhaust, the sound (faint) is still there and when i get to the intake vavle opening ,the sound is stronger. I was just wondering what you found.
