Neal, I hope that wasn't directed at me because I really was sincere when I asked my question. From the bena counters perspective, why pay to build, cast, R&D 2 different blocks for a 'modular' engine? Just curious.

The truck engines work harder so they need the knock sensor. Pushing a 3500lbs car is easy. A 5000lbs truck is a different issue. The only difference in the heads is the the way the cam gear is attached to to the cam, the way the cam is held in place on the head and the cam cover. Other than that the heads all flow the same.
