i have read several posts about modifiying the stock air box on 4.6L's to eliminate the 2" intake hole. i looked at an article on here that showed a way to remove the molded rubber portion of the box that mates to the fender and clamp the filter to the rest of the intake using a metal ring. my question is couldnt a person simply saw the end of the box off eliminating the restrictive portion and retaining the rest of the box for mounting purposes. this would leave and intake hole approx. 6" in diameter. any one got any comments?
