Maybe you didn't put the gas cap on tight. So you can reset the light by doing the following. Check the cap, disconnect the negative battery terminal, turn on the lights and wait a few minutes. Turn the lights off and reconnect the terminal. If the engine light comes on again, you have a problem and will need to get the codes read.

Instead of resetting the computer, go have the codes read at your local auto parts store, WRITE THEM DOWN, and post them back here for discussion BEFORE buying anything.

Just resetting the computer will most likely be wasting your time unless the underlying condition has been resolved.

What Project said. Get the codes read and report back here.

How is 10 minutes to reset the computer a waste of time? If there is a problem, the light will come back on. I'd personally rather whip out a wrench to possibly avoid a trip to get the codes read. Just my 2 cents. . .
