how do i get my fuel filter off

do i just pull on it. some has replaced the gas lines at one point so its not stock. i havent tried to hard to get it off i was just wondering.

First you need to push in the part of the little clip that is sticking out. Then, slide that clip forward (toward the fuel filter) and move it out of the way.

From there you usually have to insert a toll into there, push the tool into the line, away from the filter (but push the line toward the filter), and it should click and you can move the line off.

You can get the tool from autozone, o'reilly's, etc...there are two types, the plastic ones, and metal scissor ones. I like the plastic ones, but some people prefer the metal ones (I had alot of trouble with the metal ones on my truck).

Geez that Midwest winter salt is killer. I have no rust anywhere under the cab except for the muffler.

My truck has less rust on it than most or the trucks i see around here. i want to get the rust i have fixted but i dont have the money

Well it is a 12 year old truck.
If you live in the rust belt they get rusty the first winter.
