PI manifold on non-PI heads

has anyone tried a Performance Improved manifold on the Non-PI 4.6l. The mustang mag's have runs some tech articles and this looks like a good upgrade.
I read about plates and others that said just gaskets and RTV.
Plates look like a better setup.

HI!... A buddy of mine spent a ton of money on the P.I intake and LIVINOIS P.I to NON P.I adapter plates for the manifold. He has a non P.I 4.6 in his "95" MUSTANG GT. Even after THEIR dyno tune with THEIR chip, he only gained 7RWH.P! Let's just say my buddy was not happy. IMO don't waste your money.

thats some very nice work. I read that you put duct tape in the port and then grease to seal out the chips.
How do you get the grease out without any chips falling in. that part still scares me.
The welding was a nice solution to the water port issue.
I see someone selling plates on e-bay that make this easy for $100. The Livernois kit was just to much for me.
I will probably do the plates for $100

That 7hp increase is off. I have seen two mag's test this mod and they both show ~25hp. Many mustang owner are quoting good results. there must be something wrong that produced those poor hp #'s

cyberpsycho - once I stuffed the ports with duct tape (the one substance that I new woudln't tear apart and and small pieces fall into the combustion chambers), I put a lot, I mean a lot, of grease on top of them.

When I was done porting, I vaccumed all the loose aluminum out of the ports. What I was left with was a layer of aluminum that was stuck in the grease. I then used my finger to "mix" the grease and the aluminum shavings so all the shavings were integrated with the grease.

I then scooped out the majority of the grease(which contained the shavings). By the time I got down to the duct tape, it was just pure grease. When I pulled out the duct tape, it wiped the port walls of most of the grease. I had very little grease to clean out of the ports.

Hope that makes sense.
