Easy way to test the IAC is to tap it while the engine is running. If you hear the engine speed change, thats your problem.

well this is dumb... now that its 60 out today it was idleing fine? i dont kno for some reason a while back i tapped the iac and unpluged then repluged the tps and it idled fine for a while then started to act up again... now its fine again??? it still idles high when i start it but if i drive it for like 10-15 min or so and the engine is at operating temp it starts to idle right?? its haunted

my 90 f150 had a high idle 2 yrs ago, make a long story short, the f'n puter took a crap, installed a new one and no probs since

Did you replace the IAC? If not, and before you do replace it, take it off (2 bolts hold it on) and douse it with Deep Creep or Seafoam and let it soak for a few minutes. Clean it the best you can to allow movement in the casing.

Be careful with the gasket.

well i dont have a clue anymore... i think i might bring it in to the dealer and finally have them look at it and change plugs... i kno i kno all of you are saying OMG NOOOOOO but hey i jsut got done with another shoulder surgry (motocross accident ) so im not in the mood to be in the engine. ill keep ya guys posted on what i find.
