Did the dealer give you a code?? Did they tell you what caused the light to come on and why they disconnected the cable to clear it??

Lots of independent shops can read the codes. Or you can buy a reader at a good auto parts store or from a tool man [snap-on, matco, etc]

You all will have to notice his location: Manilla, The Phillipines. I doubt that there are any autoparts store sehre that will do what the US-based ones willl, but you never know.

JOEBLACK: Until you are able to get the codes read, we can't help you in diagnosing the reason for the CEL. Get the codes read, write them down exactly (code format is PXXXX where XXXX is a four-digit number), then post them back here for assistance (or SEARCH for the codes).

Reading the codes will require the use of an OBD-II scanner. In the US, these are available at any auto parts store for purchase for USD125 - USD150. Inexpensive ones are available from www.harborfreight.com for around USD 40. You can also try your luck on ebay by searching for "OBD-II Reader"

Best of luck,

Steve
