How to get rid of governor

I have a 94 f-150 with the 4.9L 300 straight 6 and have been wondering if it was possible to remove the governor. And what the side effects would be from doing so, aside from the higher top speed and whatnot. Any help would be awesome. -matt

hypertech programmer

i have it on my 98 f150 and does it make a difference nite and day. worth the investment. check if they make it for your truck.
or there might be another brand that does. like (duramax intimadator) (jet performance tuner) (hypertech programmer)
(predator tuner) etc i have the hypertec one i recommend. $400.
shop around maybe jc whitney might have it. I found they have the best price's. good luck. and obey ur octane dont cheat!

In a 94 you can pull your fuse for the interior lights which is the same ckt as the speedo. You will loose your speedo. I had a 95'RC 300 5sp hotter coil, punched cat, k&n,flow. I was running 33secs between mile markers wide open that is just under 117 mph. No wind.
