In my 2005 F 150 XLT the power steering fluid seems to have a purplish color to it, not red like ATF should be. Asked two different dealers and they both said that it uses ATF (Mercon based). They even showed me the Motorcraft ATF bottle they sell, it was red also. Any reason that the stuff in the truck currently is purple?
