next service

Well i'm almost to my next service
and currently without my book ( its in the truck at home)
i'm pretty regular on services 3k-4k for oil
have a K & N Air which i check regular and usually service at 10k
belt, plugs & Wires were changed at 120k

now fuel filter i think it was changed it at 120k without looking at my records it could have been 88k but either way its close to time for it . now my question . several post i read here talk about changing the fuel filter at 30k ( and without my book i can't remember) whats the service interval for it.

looks like i either have 79K on this filter or 110k
going to change it tomorrow ( today ) and plan to cut it open to examine.

then i'll start my upgrade / mpg thread

How many miles do you have now?

If you have that many miles on the fuel filter I would definitely change it.

guess it is time to change it just looked at my service manual and they reccoment 30k

bought it new in june of 1996
its been a good one ;o)
its even towed a Dodge & Chevy 4X4 Z71 (which was a haul)

looked at the New ones and get to the sticker and go back and polish this one up some more ;o) hope to get 300k out of it ;o)
have a great day

Talking

ok got to change the fuel filter , looked it up in my book and last fuel filter change was at 88k so this filter has 110k miles
missed several changes . I will have to do better cause the restriction was very bad . i cut the filter in two , not knowing how to cut it , i cut through the paper element. the grime was bad .
i have added several photos to my gallery but they are poor quality. It was hard to take pictures smelling like gas and with it all over my hands.

also serviced my K & N air Filter

damaged the retaining clip so i will have to get a new one and finish the job tomorrow.

I'm through with the 100K fuel filters lol
service manual says 30k my Haynes says 15K

so i will have to do better

Have a great week everyone.

Hopefully i will be able to do several services and post the pics next is maybe the Throttle body clean up

ok so i damaged the retaining clip goto the dealer parts dept and show him the part he goes to the back and shows back up a few minutes later and says they don't have one . looks it up on the machine . doesn't even show the retaining clip. off to several parts stores finally found a retaining clip at the second store.
so now everything is back in place with no leaks.

He also quoted me a price for the fuel line $225
right lol

fuel filter down
waiting for K& N to dry
now for the next job

Have a great day everyone
