Like a magnetic oil pan plug or attaching a magnet to the oil pan, you are bound to catch some very fine metallic particles. Any time these bits do not get circulated through the engine is a good . Just my opinion, this product is a keeper. If you do get one, wait for your next oil change a cut open the old filter with a pipe cutter and see how much stuff didn't go into your engine.
