5.4L engine

I have a 1999 F150 5.4L engine that is not getting oil to the #3/#7 connecting rod journal. Keeps burning the bearings. Any ideas as to why no oil? Engine has 98,xxx miles on it

Must be a restriction in the oil passages somewhere. If it has burned up the bearings once before, it's possible the oil holes on these two cylinders are clogged with bearing material. Check on a new motor.

Are you running too heavy of an oil? I've heard of things like this happening to people who insist on running their 'old favorite' oil instead of 5w-20 or 5w-30.
