FIPK vs. Aircharger (both K&N)

Okay quick question. My dad wants to buy a K&N FIPK for his 05 F150...it is identical to the 04, so we're looking up FIPKs from K&N and we keep seeing the filtercharger which looks like the exact same thing as the FIPK.

What's the difference??
Thanks!

From the K&N site:

K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kits (FIPK):
-K&N's ultimate performance product
-Street legal in all 50 US States
-Designed to increase horsepower by as much as 10%
-10 Year / Million Mile Limited Warranty
-Available for many popular vehicles
--------

K&N AirCharger® Performance Kits
-For off road and racing use
-Designed to increase horsepower by as much as 10%, although the kits are not street legal in some states
-Available for many popular vehicles
-K&N Racing and Off Road Warranty

AirCharger Kits are NOT legal for sale or use on pollution controlled vehicles in some states. These kits replace the original air filter box and may eliminate or defeat some emission controls.

You need to get the FIPK, since the aircharger kits bypass the intake sensors and you'll just end up throwing a CEL

That is interesting to see....so far I'm only finding the Aircharger kits for the 04 fords...well I found only one carrier that had the FIPK.

Thanks for the information!

John,

Seriously? A plain K&N (no FIPK) will throw a CEL?? I have a plain K&N in right now (4.6.)

I have been getting some CEL's since I put it in (it goes on and off.) I have been meaning to get the FIPK for a while, now I guess it's time!

If this is true, I feel like a moron.
