Hey all,

I have a small problem. When my truck is running and I turn on the heater/defrost, everytime it kicks in my trucks engine idle surges up. Then when the heater/defrost kicks off the engine idle drops back down. Its not much but it is noticeable. Any ideas?

That's normal, it's your a/c compressor kicking on and off. The a/c circuit is active on all settings except "panel" and "floor".

 

Thanks for the info. It is more noticeable as of late. Is this an indicator that my compressor is going bad? Or is this just a normal thing?

 

This is normal. Your computer is adding throttle to compensate for the additional load.
