I was under the impression that higher octane only helps with knocking and/or detonation.
It doesnt increase performance?

neso, it aint gonna happen. For what ever reason chevy has it when it comes to speed. I have a 99' F-150 with everything you could possibly imagine on it and I can't beat *****. Offroad is a different story because fords are built like a donkey, they will go where ever you point it. I wouldn't try it on the street. A factory ford likes to rev high and unless you are manually shifting to keep the rpm's up just be happy owning a ford.

Neal, i don't want to go off subject here, but Could you email or call me, Letting me know what you've got laying around the garage for a 4.6? That loss to Tim the other night kinda sparked something. I was not pleased with that! Thanks Buddy
