Throttle Positioning Switch...???

Alright I have a 2000 white F-150. Well I went to start it and it would crank perfectly, like usual. But then when it would just suddenly die. I was told it was the Throttle Positioning Switch, so I bought one. But I have absolutely no clue where it's located. I'm hoping it's nothing to hard to install. Any pictures or explanations or even write-ups would be great. Thanks

It's probably the IAC (Idle Air Control) that is faily and not the TPS (Throttle Positions Sensor). I would try a new IAC first.

To answer your question, however, the TPS is located directly on the throttle body. It is on the driver's side. Use your new one as a comparison and search for it. It should be quite simple to find.

The problem is because your truck is white.

If it were any other color, it would run perfectly.

How was it decided the Throttle Position sensor was the fault?
I think you just bought a part you don't need for the discribed problem.
What fault code is stored in the computer?

Those screws are a royal pain to remove. I'm not sure if the factory applies thread locker or if the screws gaul in the aluminum.

After I stripped the screws, I go the smallest pair of vise grips and little by little, backed them out.

I replaced them with stainless steel alllen head bolts and used some anti-sieze so I wouldn't have to worry about it again.

Umm yeah, actually the truck is my moms. I don't drive it. I have my Honda Prelude. It's my baby. But yeah it was the throttle positioning switch. We installed it, and it cranked right on. So thanks for the help.
