Intake idle problem

I installed a cold air intake system to my 98 4.6L F-150 for christmas, it ran fine until last thursday when it started to make a wierd humming noise out of the mass airflow sensor that caused the RPM's to rise, this only lasts for about 5 or 6 seconds, but it does it a lot, especially when i am idling. My buddy has a 97 f-150 and said i should get a new AIC, air intake control, i was wondering if anybody knew why this started to happen all the sudden and how i could fix it, and if it is the AIC?????????

When you installed the intake tube did you eliminate the little square box that was installed in the idle air bypass hose??? If you did cut the hose and reinstall it, thats what it's purpose is it is a silancer for the idle air bypass.
