Blown motor
Blown motor
I have a '97 f150 king cab with a 4.6l Windsor engine. The motor blew and I have found a '99 4.6l Romeo motor I would like to replace it with. Does anyone know what modifications I will need to do for this motor work in my '97?
Did you get my e-mail?
It was rejected so sent it again.
Anyways, the crank flange bolt hole count is different between the engines.
Valve cover bolt count is different.
Check to see if the flywheel will bolt up to your convertor.
Check that all outside parts will bolt up.
In the last 10 years there have been so many running design changes that you can't be sure what you have until it's taken apart.
The old 302 never came close to having as many changes over it's nearly 37 year history.
Good luck.
