Question Head Gasket leaking

I have a 01 F150 SuperCrew with 67,XXX miles on her. I've got an oil leak on back passenger side of motor. It has been confirmed that it is a head gasket leaking. The cost to fix is about 660.00 from dealer if I don't need and head work done which can be partially paid for by Ford if there is a problem. **My question is I don't have the bucks to fix it yet and it barely drips any oil is it safe to drive until I get this problem fixed???? It's my only driver and the dealer will not be providing a car for me to drive. I've asked for Financial Assistance from Ford but the dealers telling me it is undetermined what Ford might due to help me based on how many Fords I've bought in the past which like what I said this is the first good looking truck they've made since the 65 shortbed I have. Anyway I use amsoil...I wonder if this had anything to do with the leak???

I had this same issue on my 1999 5.4L Ford went thru 3 gaskets and a head. Then in 2002 under my ESP I got new engine for $150. You can continue to drive it, but it will only grow worse over time and could cause additional damage internally.

My 2001 f150 has been seeping for about a year and a half now. It started the first time I use ford 5/w30oil I changed back to regular 10/w30 oil and leaks very little now. App. once a month I get a can of brake parts cleaner with the nozzel on the can and spray the back of the head, block, and trans area to remove the residual oil. this eliminates the oil from ever hitting the ground or making a mess under the truck. It doest leak enough to take the thing appart and possably still have a problem. "let a sleeping dog lie"

I too had the head gasket replaced under warranty. One year after it expired it started leaking again. the dealer said it was out of their warranty and fords warranty. 30K Miles later it still leaks a little. It does not drip on the floor and does not need topped off between oil changes. If it gets too bad I'll get it fixed but until then I leave it.

Head Gasket Leaking

I keep hearing about engines getting replaced...I'm thinking about when I got some bucks I'll have Ford dealer fix it and among anticipation of it going out again after the 12 month 12,000 mile warranty I'll get'er done again. I wonder if ford is ever going to get there **** together on engines...I switched from GMC's to Ford for all the warranty issues... maybe the problem with Ford is it generally happens out of warranty....I love the truck though.
