Question Dual Exhaust

I have a 97 f150 with Complete K&N cold air intake, Stock exhaust.

would dual exhaust out the back with flow masters increase performance or fuel economy? Would it be worth my time and money?

Looks and sound are the best you will likely achieve.

Any economy that you could possibly gain would never get repaid over the life of the vehicle, most likely.

I think Flowmasters are the lease favorable among the folks here when buying for performance.

There are some manufacturers that boast horsepower gains and MPG increases. Although, you are talking maybe 1-2 mpg if your lucky and keep your foot out of the throttle. (which is really hard to do after you get a new exhaust system)

Check out some of the recent exhaust related post and you will get an idea.

Cold air intakes and exhaust systems rarely do anything in the lower rpm's where most of your driving is done. You'll actually lose low end power with the exhaust.

I went with a Gibson single outlet because the 4.6 is such a small engine. Dual outlets might tend to produce less torque than a single. The engine needs some back pressure.

The biggest bang for youre buck for both performance and fuel economy is a custom tune.
Flowmaster exaust even though it sounds great hurts the low end torque a bit. The next time I will get magnaflow exaust, but I won't change to flowmaster rusts out.
