5.4 supercharger
I got a '03 f-150 4x4 5.4 triton, it's a little on the non-response side when I hit the throttle. Getting steady 17mpg's, not bad, but want more ***** when I hit that pedal.
Anybody put in a supercharger? Been reading about the twin screw supercharger, looks good, it says it's better than adding air systems, exhaust etc.. but for 4k I want to be sure.
Any real experience replies will be appreciated.

Welcome to reality.
Yes the KB will give you the response your looking for and is a good choice.
I'm not debating, anyone who brings up some other blower they think is better but this unit will give you what your looking for.
The air intake and exhaust alone won't give the boost your looking for but should be considered with the blower use.
I run a KB on a 5L at 7+ psi boost.
It is pricey but complment it with a program controller and you will have about all you need on the street for the weight of the truck and normal driving.

A supercharger is well worth the expense. There are several to choose from. If you haven't already, take a look at the supercharger section of this board. You will find all the information you will need, and then some!
Good luck!
Good luck!
Thanks for the replies guys, it's good news for me!!
Now I know what I'm using my tax returns for....hope my wife don't find out!!
I think I'm going with the Kenne Bell system, it comes with everything needed, trans chip, fuel pp booster etc....can't wait.
They offer as an accessory a rear diff reinforced diff cover, supposedly holds the rear end together, must be awesome with the supercharger!! It'll be nice to smoke my tires again, miss that rubber burning power from my younger days......when a 302 had 300hp!!! Don't miss the exhibition of speed tickets though.....
Mele Kalikimaka and a Haole Makahiki Hou!!

Good luck with whatever option you choose.
However, I wouldnt go for the reinforced differential cover...I dont see how simply changing out the dif cover is going to "hold it together"...maybe I misread your statement.

I have a eaton supercharger off my lightning with plenum and Throttle body for sale. 03 model with 9000 miles on it. 500.00 dollars. email me at marc_ashley@hotmail.com if interested
You better hope the wife don't find out about it after you check out the kit price at Kennebell.net.
As I understand it, the stock Lightening blower is a chore to get on and running as much as you would think it would not be.

I've heard of these rear end covers, and I agree they do add strength to the rear end, but I don't think that your stock 8.8 will take the abuse of a supercharger. I mean a stock 5.4 in 97' was breaking the 8.8's left and right, that is why a year after ALL 5.4's had a 9.75" rear. I'd find one in a junk yard and replace yours. The Harley Davidson and Lightning use them, and I hear they are reliable up to like 500lb of torque. You may have some tranny issues with the supercharger as well...

my rulee of thumb with hotrodding is that run if you are gopin gto totally replace a part for strength, then just run it til it breaks.
i would also consider the allen kit for you application.
he has a 5.4, i dont think it has the 8.8 rear end.
