nitrous advice?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

cant wait to get it on. but i do have a super chip and my homemade ram air setup...

are there any issues i may run into? i thought i remember reading somewhere that a chip plus no2 can lead to detonation...

any input would be appreciated

HI!... You will luv that kit. I bought one from the same guy you did. Just be carefull. When mine showed up the box it came in was destroyed and the 40AMP rely in the kit was broken and the bottle hand **** was cracked. They packed it in *NOTHING*. Don't know if it was their packing job or Canada customs that caused the damage. I also picked up 3 spare 10LB NX bottles and a NX electric bottle opener off EBAY. Saved about 1/2 the price if I was to buy it here in CANADA new. Everything I bought was brand new still in the packaging.

As for the nitrous set-up, make sure you run the smallest shot to begin with. It should be a 35H.P kit. Remember that NITROUS EXPRESS rates theirs at the rear wheels , not the flywheel. So a 50H.P shot is more like a 65H.P shot at the flywheel. You will have to have your chip modified for less timing depending on the H.P shot of nitrous you plan on using. My SCT 4-bank chip is currently getting re-done by MIKE TROYER.

P.S : A must on your truck if your going to run nitrous is a RPM Window Switch, PN 8956, from MSD. If you happen to hit your trucks rev limiter while on the juice, your engine can go BYE, BYE. It's very cheap insurance.

thx for the info neal!

lol i hope mine gets here in 1 piece...

i had a question about the chip though. if i had to get it reprogrammed for less timing, wouldnt i then be losing performance when not using nitrous?

if thats the case are the gains from a programmed chip worth it?

HI!... Do you only have a single program chip????

I have a SCT 4-bank chip from MIKE T in my truck. It has 4 seperate programs on it :

1 - aggressive N/A street tune on 94 octain.

2 - aggressive nitrous RACE tune on 94 octain.

3 - agressive N/A street tune on 100 octain race fuel.

4 - agressive nitrous RACE tune on 100 octain race fuel.

If you only have a single program chip, then I would strongly suggest to you to switch over to one of MIKE T's SCT 4-BANK chips. This way you can set up for nitrous and N/A use.

You will have to ask who ever you got your chip from what your current program timing is. If it's not much more than stock you MIGHT be able to get away with a 50H.P shot or less with your current chip program. I wouldn't chance it though. Call your tuner and double check before using the kit. See, my N/A programs have as much as 29 degree's of timing in them so nitrous without a tune change would be totally disasterous for my engine. Rule of thumb in most cases is retard the timing 2-3 degree's for every 50H.P of nitrous you use.

thx again

i bought my chip used so i honestly dont know where it came from lol. so i dont think ill chance using it.

but it does work well and i like being able to go over 100 should i need to

im not gonna be doing much racing, and jus bought the n02 to use jus whenever lol. i also got it because im going to be getting an 04-05 sometime this year(hopefully) and can use it on the new truck.

basically i was looking (w/o spending too much money) to have a chip that would increase my regular performance as well as being able to handle the nitrous without having to change the program everytime.

any options for me?
