cam install

How hard is it to install cams. I have an 02 Gt motor in my 97 f-150 and was told I'm giving up alot on the low-end with the gt cams. I would like to install some kind of truck cam to give me back the low-end. I have 97 cams in my blown up motor, will they work???? Any info would be great. I'm on the brink of chiping the truck(mike troyer is already getting set to work on one). But I'll stop him and do the cams first if it's the right thing to do.

Thanx
Jeff

Putting cams in our trucks isn't necessarily difficult, but it definitely takes some time. Once you get everything out of the way, there is plenty of room to take the olds cams out and put the new ones in.

I don't know this 100%, but I've ready it several times that the cams in the trucks and the mustangs/crown vics are the same. It is the ECU tuning and the intake manifolds that dictate the low end torque vs. high end HP. Again, this is only what I've read.

With your 02 GT motor, are you running the car intake manifold or the tall truck manifold?
