ignition coils

I have had two ignition coils (#7,#5) fail in the last six months on my 2001 F150 4.6 (61,000). Naturally the dealer tells me that this is not covered under the extended warranty. I hope this is unusual and not a common problem. Is there an after-market unit that is more reliable? One more time and this thing may turn into a Toyota!!!!

Check your ignition wires, or ignition leads to the coils. If there is high resistance in the wires it will cause the coils to fail.
